Empowering Employees: Advanced Learning with ACDA

Akamai is a growing and evolving company with operations around the world. We are the people securing and delivering today's digital world. Our global impact is both measured and felt in real time.

We strive to foster an inclusive workplace where all employees realize their top potential through learning opportunities that align with both individual and company goals. Nothing engages employees more than having a plan for their future. To support such plans, the Field and Technical Enablement group builds training programs that tie Akamai products, adopted industry solutions, and customer enablement together.

What is ACDA?

Delivering a superior and differentiated Customer Experience (CX), swift design and iteration, and the fast release of new products and features to the market are all essential parts of DevOps methodology.

To support this, Akamai has developed the Akamai Certified DevOps Associate (ACDA) training curriculum, specifically designed for Akamai Solutions Architects and Solutions Delivery Leaders to support Akamai Customers and their DevOps goals. The program consists of 25 eLearning course hours, which include a combination of foundational overview, industry-aligned training, hands-on technical labs, and a final presentation round in front of a panel of peers.

40 Akamai employees have taken part in the training and 70 more employees are currently enrolled. The program's success is boasting a current pass rate of 100% of the Service Delivery group, successfully securing their ACDA Certification.

What does ACDA provide for Akamai Employees?

ACDA certification provides two key ingredients for Solution Architects (SA's) to support their customers:

  1. The necessary skills and tools for SA's to help their customers troubleshoot and debug Akamai APIs;

  2. The knowledge required to communicate with customers around DevOps environments, identify use-cases for Akamai DevOps related solutions and lead conversations around the engagement of Akamai APIs.

 What does ACDA provide for Akamai Customers?

ACDA Certified SA's provide Akamai customers both strength and quality support, through technical knowledge around DevOps and relevant API's. Empowered employees, with professional knowledge and confidence, are able to advise, consult, and help customers make the most informed choices when it comes to vendor selection, solution adoption, and strategy to consider in supporting their technical and professional needs.

"The spirit of continuous learning helps not only in adding value to each employee's career, but also helps us serve our customers better."

Delivering and capturing value have always been the bedrock of Akamai's Customer Centric business model. Training and development provide the foundations for creating such productive and positive customer experiences. Customer centric learning platforms, like the ACDA program, provide the means for customers to gain deeper strategic conversations with Akamai Technical personnel and most effectively bridge Customer environments and Akamai technologies; maximizing benefits and output.  At Akamai, we are here to advise and support; we want to know - "How would you like to be supported"?
