Today, Akamai announced Media Acceleration, which is designed to improve viewing experiences for over-the-top (OTT) video and accelerate video game and other software downloads. The capability marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Akamai's content delivery capabilities, aiming to provide the best possible experience for each individual. Media Acceleration is being released as a feature of Akamai's Adaptive Media Delivery and Download Delivery products. The capabilities can be enabled by integrating the Akamai Media Acceleration SDK directly into consumer applications to enable a consistent, reliable delivery experience for each end user regardless of their circumstances or local network conditions.
